You understand more Turkish than you can say
You can read the menu, follow the dizi with subtitles, and catch most of what the kapıcı says. Then someone asks you a question and it all goes. That gap is not a knowledge problem — it is a practice problem.
Why courses and apps leave you stuck
Most people living in Turkey learn Turkish the same way: an app for vocabulary, a course for grammar, and daily life for listening. All three build input. None of them make you produce a sentence out loud under time pressure, which is the only thing that builds speaking.
This is why someone can pass an A2 exam and still freeze at the pharmacy. The words are there; the retrieval speed is not, because retrieval speed is only trained by retrieving.
- Apps are patient and never interrupt you — real conversation does both.
- Grammar courses reward the correct answer; speaking rewards the fast one, even if it is imperfect.
- Turkish suffixes are the specific problem: you build the word as you speak, so hesitation compounds.
- Living here does not fix it — most daily exchanges are three words long and repeat forever.
- Turkish friends switch to English to be kind, which quietly removes your only practice.

Warm-up
One easy question, everyone answers. Sitting silently is not an option, which is the point.

Topic
A subject with real vocabulary attached — renting, health, work, bureaucracy. Things you will actually need.

Correction
The teacher does not interrupt mid-sentence. Corrections come at the end, so your flow is never broken.

Task
A small speaking task before the next session, so your mouth keeps working between meetings.

Questions
There are free Turkish courses in Turkey. Why pay?+−
Free courses exist and they are genuinely useful — Halk Eğitim Merkezi and municipal programmes teach real grammar, and if you have not done a structured course you should consider one. What they generally do not give you is a small group where you speak for most of the hour. That is the specific gap this fills. If a free course is the better fit for where you are now, we will say so on the phone.
What level do I need?+−
Roughly A1 and up — enough to build a simple sentence, even slowly and with mistakes. If you are at zero, a speaking group is the wrong first step and we will tell you that rather than take your money.
Where are you? I live in Istanbul / Ankara / Antalya.+−
Sessions are online and live, so your city does not matter. That is usually good news: outside the big cities there is often no Turkish speaking group nearby at all, and being online removes that problem entirely.
How big is the group?+−
Small, deliberately. In a large class the speaking time per person collapses and the shy people leave without saying anything. The whole point is that you talk.
What does it cost?+−
It depends on the group and the term, so we do not publish a fixed number that would be wrong for half the people reading it. The first conversation and the level chat are free, and we will give you the current figure plainly on the call.
Who teaches it?+−
We run the language side together with AHK Academy — their teachers run the sessions, and we place you in the right group. We say so up front because you would find out on the first call anyway.
Do I need to speak Turkish to sign up?+−
